Working With Children Policy
At Sorrento Cricket Club (SCC), we are committed to creating a culture that prioritises the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and young people involved in our club.
We strive to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for all participants involved in our games, activities, programs and facilities.
In accordance with Victorian legislation, including the Working With Children Check requirements and Child Safe Standards, all SCC Committee members, coaches, training and match-day personnel, and official position holders are required to hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to the commencement of each season.
At SCC, we believe everyone has a role to play in protecting children and young people. We therefore strongly encourage all adult volunteers and players to obtain a WWCC.
A WWCC is:
- Free for volunteers
- Transferable across child-related organisations and volunteer settings throughout Victoria
